Dakota Mitchell brings extensive playing and coaching experience to Viper Baseball Academy. A former professional pitcher, Dakota has spent 7 years coaching at A-Grade level, contributing to 5 SABL Premierships. His coaching career also includes international experience in Florida with the Downunder Travelers, working closely with athletes competing in high-intensity environments.

In addition to his club success, Dakota has served as a Senior Charter Head Coach, focusing on pitcher development, game preparation, and building strong, competitive cultures. His approach combines professional playing experience, proven results, and a strong emphasis on fundamentals, work ethic, and mental toughness.

Byron Wiley joins Viper Baseball Academy overseeing outfield development and hitting. Having coached alongside Byron this year, his professional approach to the game and ability to translate high-level experience into practical coaching stood out immediately.

Byron brings extensive professional playing experience across affiliated and independent baseball, giving athletes valuable insight into the demands, routines, and standards required at the professional level. His background allows him to prepare athletes not only technically, but mentally and professionally for higher competition.

Stefan Welch joins Viper Baseball Academy as our Infield Coach, bringing a wealth of elite playing experience and leadership to the program. Stefan embodies Australian baseball, having played professionally for nearly a decade while also representing Australia at the highest level.

With extensive experience across professional, national, and domestic competition, Stefan’s knowledge of the game goes beyond skill development, helping athletes understand the demands, habits, and mindset required to succeed as a professional athlete.
